3PM Experience Takeover Ujima

In 1988 Krissy Kriss Kriss Johnson, DJ Lynx Lynx Thomas and MC Kelz were recording under the name of 3PM. Their releases included the classic, self-titled ‘3PM/St. ‘P’/ Lynx Quite Frankly. Followed by ‘Better Late Than Never’.

Together they have rocked many shows, toured and made several TV appearances. ‘The First Stroke 1989 – 95’ was their last release in 2018 as a crew and features previously unreleased recordings.
By 1990: 3PM were a hip-hop powerhouse in their own right. The most influential group in creating a distinctive identity for Bristol rap, 3PM was at the forefront of British hip-hop’s quest for legitimacy. Making a significant stance in helping establish UK Rap, black-britishness outside of London.

3PM told tales of the city they lived in, in the language of its local neighbourhoods like St. Paul’s and Easton. Building on top of Bristol’s deep rich music history, gaining knowledge from the city’s legendary sound system, which out of that would see the creation of DJ Crews. Kelz, Krissy Kris & DJ Lynx have been integral in the Hip Hop scene and have performed and worked with some of the best in the industry. Not forgetting the countless features & interviews in music editorials, plus their legendary weekly Hip Hop radio show on Galaxy Radio, which aired for 8 years.

Tonight for the first time in decades 3PM will return the airwaves for a special takeover marking Code of the Streets 16th anniversary. Tune in 8-10pm Ujima Radio 98fm, DAB online https://ujimaradio.com/.
